is shipped off to the far away land of Wendelyn to assassinate the royal family. As much fun as that would be Ms. Sardothien decides to visit an old relative to see if she can find a way to destroy the power the King of Adarlan is holding over magic, the realm and the people in it.
We are introduced to some other factions and characters, explore more of the politics of the world and are treated to front row seats of Caelena's transformation to the beginnings of a powerful ruler.
As always there are new and novel monsters brought in and some truly stomach churning evil scenes.
This series continues to hold up.
